Succulent Care Guide

Sunlight: Succulents thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a south or east-facing window where they can receive at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
Be cautious of intense afternoon sun, especially in hotter climates, as it may scorch the leaves.

Water: Succulents are drought-tolerant plants and are prone to rot if overwatered. Water your succulents deeply but infrequently.
Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. The frequency of watering depends on factors such as the type of succulent, the climate, and the size of the pot.
Generally, in warmer and sunnier conditions, you might need to water more frequently, while in cooler or humid climates, watering can be less frequent.
Always water the soil directly, avoiding getting water on the leaves, as this can lead to rot.

Soil: Succulents prefer well-draining soil to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
Use a cactus or succulent-specific potting mix, or create your own by mixing regular potting soil with perlite or sand to improve drainage.

Container: Choose pots or containers with drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.
Terracotta pots are an excellent choice as they allow airflow to the roots and help in the evaporation of excess moisture.

Temperature and Humidity: Succulents generally prefer temperatures between 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C).
Most succulents are not frost-tolerant and should be brought indoors if temperatures drop below freezing.
They can tolerate low humidity but thrive in moderate humidity levels.

Fertilizing: During the growing season, which is typically in spring and summer, you can fertilize your succulents with a balanced, water-soluble
fertilizer diluted to half strength. Fertilize sparingly, as succulents do not require heavy feeding.

Pest and Disease Control: Succulents are relatively pest-resistant but can occasionally be affected by pests like mealybugs, aphids, or spider mites.
Monitor your plants regularly for any signs of pests or diseases, and treat them promptly using organic insecticidal soap or a 1-3 ratio of isopropyl alcohol.
Neem Oil Warning: carefully water soil only with neem oil following the mixture ratios of instructions provided.
DO NOT spray succulent leaves with need oil mixture.

Pruning and Maintenance: Remove any dead or dying leaves by gently plucking them off the plant.
This helps prevent the spread of diseases and maintains the overall appearance of the succulent.
If your succulent becomes leggy or stretched out, you can prune it back to encourage new growth and a more compact shape.

Propagation: Many succulents can be easily propagated from leaves or stem cuttings.
Allow the cuttings to callus over for a few days, then plant them in well-draining soil and keep them lightly moist until roots develop.

Seasonal Care: Adjust your care routine according to the seasons.
Succulents may need less water and lower temperatures in winter, while they may require more frequent watering and protection from intense sun in summer.

By following these guidelines and paying attention to the specific needs of your succulents, you can ensure they remain healthy and vibrant for years to come.
